INTRODUCTION

Queensland World Dance Academy made history recently, by becoming the first ever registered training organisation in Australia to offer Certificate IV and Diploma Accredited courses in Western and Eastern dance.

QWDA provides a full time, two year Diploma Course and a one year Certificate IV Course, specializing in the areas of Dance Performance in Western and Eastern style. These different types of courses offer a comprehensive range of training from a diverse group of highly qualified teachers and staff from Australia and overseas.

An extensive range of courses is offered to local, interstate and overseas students who wish to follow a career in performing arts.

Entry into full time courses is by audition only.

MISSION AND PURPOSE

The aim of QWDA is to offer students a safe-confident, happy and healthy environment and to help students learn to the best of their abilities through offering them our continuous support. A focus on multiculturalism in our academy is aimed to assist students in achieving their career goals through an expanded appreciation of the diverse types of cultures that dance offers to them.

Dance, as one of performing arts, has an important impact on our cultural diversity. From the modern western dance through to the traditional styles of eastern dance, QWDA’s fusion work shows a unique blend of these two diverse styles.
