Certificate IV
On successful completion of the Certificate IV in Western and Eastern Dance Performance, dancers will be employable as chorus or ensemble dancers with a broad range of expertise in performing agreed genre and cross genre dance sequences and routines, under the direction of lead dancers, choreographers and artistic directors.
Specifically, learners will be able to:
- Understand dance from both Western and Eastern cultural perspectives and value diversity of dance performance, especially in relation to how dancers perform.
- Recognise distinguishing features of Western and Eastern dance styles, influences and the background to these dance styles
Demonstrate use of the elements of Western and Eastern dances movements through dance routines - Develop skills in Western and Eastern dances through the preparation for and performance of designated Western and Eastern dance pieces
- Interpret requirements of maintaining self as a performer working within the performing arts industry as a dancer within required safe dance practices
